Our identity is not based on how we see ourselves or what others say about us.  God’s opinion is the only one that counts.  Accept what God says about you.  Take hold of the truth of God’s Word.  If you are a Christian, then the statements below are true for you.

This list of biblical affirmations about our identity is derived from a few selected passages.  These 100 affirmations are just a portion of the many truths about who we are and who we became through faith in Jesus Christ.

  1. I am created in God’s image, reflecting His nature (Genesis 1:26-27)
  2. I can walk with my head held high (Leviticus 26:13)
  3. I am chosen to be God’s own precious treasure (Deuteronomy 7:6)
  4. I am the head and not the tail. I am on top and not beneath (Deuteronomy 28:13)
  5. I am constantly watched over, both now and forever (2 Chronicles 16:9, Psalm 121:3, Psalm 121:8)
  6. I am protected (Psalm 5:11)
  7. I am cared for. From the moment I was created in my mother’s womb, throughout my entire lifetime, and will be cared for until my hair is white with age (Psalm 71:6, Isaiah 46:3-4)
  8. My sins are removed from me as far as the East is from the West (Psalm 103:12)
  9. I am deeply loved by my Father (Psalm 103:13, 1 John 3:1)
  10. I am wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14)
  11. I can sleep soundly (Proverbs 3:24)
  12. I am created to bring honour and glory to God (Isaiah 43:7)
  13. My name is written on the palms of God’s hands (Isaiah 49:16)
  14. I am not forgotten, and will never be (Isaiah 49:15)
  15. No weapon created to harm me will succeed (Isaiah 54:17)
  16. Everlasting joy is mine (Isaiah 61:7)
  17. I am God’s handiwork and His masterpiece (Isaiah 64:8, Ephesians 2:10)
  18. I was designed by God for His purposes (Jeremiah 1:5, Ephesians 2:10)
  19. God is looking forward to me calling Him Father (Jeremiah 3:19)
  20. I have a new heart and God’s Spirit is in me (Ezekiel 36:26)
  21. I am the salt of the earth and the light of the world (Matthew 5:13-14)
  22. I am valuable to God and He will take care of me (Matthew 6:25-26)
  23. The very hairs on my head are all numbered (Matthew 10:30)
  24. Nothing will be impossible for me if I have even a little faith (Matthew 17:20)
  25. What I give I will receive back. My gift will return to me in full.  Pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into my lap.  The amount I give will determine the amount I get back (Luke 6:38)
  26. I have power over the enemy and nothing will hurt me (Luke 10:19)
  27. My name is written in heaven (Luke 10:20)
  28. I am a child of God (John 1:12)
  29. I have eternal life because I believe in Jesus Christ (John 3:16)

  32. No one can snatch me from God’s hand (John 10:28)
  33. I have a place prepared for me in heaven (John 14:2)
  34. I have the courage and strength needed for every challenge (John 14:27)
  35. I am a branch of the true vine, chosen to bear fruit (John 15:1,5,16)
  36. As a disciple, I am a friend of Jesus Christ (John 15:15)
  37. I am a personal witness of Jesus Christ (Acts 1:8)
  38. I have been justified, declared righteous, before God (Romans 3:24 and 5:1)

  55. I am established, anointed and sealed by God. He placed the Holy Spirit in my heart as a pledge to guarantee the fulfilment of His promise of eternal life (2 Corinthians 1:21-22)
  56. I am a new creation because I am in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17)
  57. I am an ambassador for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20)
  58. I am redeemed (Galatians 3:13, Ephesians 1:7)
  59. I am no longer a slave, but God’s child and heir (Galatians 4:7, Romans 8:17)
  60. I have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places (Ephesians 1:3)
  61. Even before God made the world, He loved me and chose me to be holy and without fault in His eyes (Ephesians 1:4)

  73. I am called to live a life that exhibits godly character, moral courage, personal integrity, and mature behaviour. A life that expresses gratitude to God for my salvation (Ephesians 4:1)
  74. I am confident that God will perfect the work He has begun in me (Philippians 1:6)
  75. I am a citizen of heaven (Philippians 3:20)
  76. I have the peace of God that passes all understanding (Philippians 4:7)
  77. I can do all things through Jesus Christ who gives me strength (Philippians 4:13)
  78. I have no lack for my God supplies all of my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19)
  79. I am strengthened with all His glorious power so I will have all the endurance and patience I need (Colossians 1:11)
  80. I am holy and blameless because of Jesus Christ’s death (Colossians 1:22, 1 Corinthians 1:8)
  81. I am complete in Jesus Christ (Colossians 2:10)
  82. All the debt of my sin has been cancelled and I am made alive in Jesus Christ (Colossians 2:13-14)
  83. I am chosen, holy and dearly loved (Colossians 3:12, Ephesians 1:4)
  84. I can have peace at all times in every situation (2 Thessalonians 3:16)
  85. I do not have a spirit of fear, but of love, power, and self-discipline (2 Timothy 1:7)
  86. There is a crown of righteousness waiting for me (2 Timothy 4:8)
  87. I have received grace and peace (Philemon 1:3)
  88. My sins are forgiven and forgotten (Hebrews 8:12)
  89. I am not alone and will never be abandoned (Hebrews 13:5)
  90. I can ask God for wisdom and He will give it to me (James 1:5)
  91. I am submitted to God, and the devil flees from me because I resist him in the Name of Jesus (James 4:7)
  92. My prayers matter to God, because I matter to Him (James 5:16-17)
  93. I am born again – spiritually transformed, renewed and set apart for God’s purpose – through the living and everlasting word of God (1 Peter 1:23)
  94. I am part of a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation and God’s special people (1 Peter 2:9)
  95. I am healed because Jesus Christ bore my sins on the cross (1 Peter 2:24, Isaiah 53:5)
  96. God watches over me and listens for my prayers (1 Peter 3:12)
  97. God cares about me (1 Peter 5:7)
  98. I have the Greater One living in me. Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4)
  99. God hears me when I ask for anything that pleases Him (1 John 5:14)
  100. God will keep and protect me, and the evil one cannot touch me (1 John 5:18)
